Mahkamah Halang Penganjur, Orang Awam Memasuki Dataran Merdeka

KUALA LUMPUR: Mahkamah Majistret telah mengeluarkan perintah menghalang penganjur Bersih 3.0 dan orang ramai daripada memasuki Dataran Merdeka pada hari Sabtu.

Majistret Zaki Asyraf Zubir telah membuat perintah itu pada kira-kira pukul 8.30 malam, Khamis, berikutan permohonan oleh pihak polis. - mStar online

Court bars rally organisers, public from entering Dataran Merdeka

KUALA LUMPUR: The Magistrates court has issued an order preventing the organisers of Bersih 3.0 and members of the public from gathering at Dataran Merdeka on Saturday.

Police obtained the order at about 8.30pm Thursday to maintain peace and public order, said City police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Mohmad Salleh on Friday.

The court order bars organisers and members of the public from gathering at Dataran from midnight Friday until May 1, he said at a press conference.

"Anyone caught defying the court order will be arrested and charged under Section 188 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum fine of RM2,000 or six months jail or both on conviction," he told reporters.

However, members of the press are exempted, he said.

Aside from Dataran Merdeka, the other areas that this court order covers include areas along Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, Jalan Raja and Jalan Kelab. These roads ring Dataran Merdeka.

"No roads leading to Dataran will be totally closed on Saturday, unless the situation warrants it," he said. - The Star online
